ABOUT
Gary S. Merkel Professional Corporation, Chartered Professional Accountant is a Calgary based firm providing tax and accounting services to private companies, individuals and trusts. The firm also provides tax planning and advisory services to professional services firms including other Chartered Professional Accountant firms. The firm focuses on performing quality engagements for its clientele.
Gary has over 25 years experience providing tax and accounting services to private companies, individuals and trusts. Over the years Gary has attained extensive tax experience with various tax groups including two Big 4 firms and has worked on complex portfolios with High Net Worth and ultra High Net Worth clientele including some very distinguished business people and has prepared tax returns for one of Canada's oldest publicly traded companies. Gary has gained valuable fraud investigation experience.
BIO
Gary S. Merkel, CPA, CGA, TEP
Gary is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) who originally obtained the Certified General Accountant designation and also holds the Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) designation. Gary is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation. Gary has completed the In-depth Tax Course.
